Statistics
Our background in quantitative genetics has necessarily involved the use of statistics. This is applied in the statistical analyses we undertake for clients providing objective information upon which to make data based decisions. Our commercial experience and practical involvement in the food chain is essential in helping solve problems and to make informed decisions for the future. We have expert knowledge of statistical software such as SAS, Miniitab and SPLUS. We also provide data analysis courses, tailored to your company's specific requirements.
Research
We can provide the up-front discussion to enhance trial design and improve the outcomes for the money invested. Quantech Solutions have considerable experience of managing ‘muddy-boots’ trials on farm and also within processing companies. For example these have been trials comparing different genetic lines of animals, different feed regimes, and evaluating new technologies and equipment. Our specialism is in the analysis of meat related data.
We also undertake qualitative research within local food chains, for example in discussions with consumers, retailers and suppliers about collaboration. This work utilised a technique called Appreciative Inquiry and the results were also presented quantitatively.
Data analysis and presenting your results
The company has expert knowledge of developing databases (ACCESS, SQL Server for standalone, intranet or internet) and using statistical packages such as SAS, Minitab and SPLUS to analyse and present data. Our choice of statistical package to use in analysing your results is determined by which is the most appropriate of these tools. Quantech Solutions have extensive experience of presenting material with Microsoft products such as Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
